We’ve only known about Final Fantasy XVI‘s existence for eight or so months now, but it feels a lot longer than that. Microsoft has a lot of balls in play this E3, but a look at Starfield ‘s development would be a welcome surprise. I have no idea when we’ll see Starfield‘s release, but I am hoping for a better look at Bethesda’s space RPG this year just so we can find out more about this project.
Starfield - Bethesda Game Studios’ first new IP in 25 years - is an upcoming space RPG and… that’s all we really know! First announced in 2018 - but talked about internally for much, much longer - Starfield is a mysterious project with high expectations. ET: We got a trailer! And a hefty one at that too! Martin penned to help write the world building lore as well, Elden Ring will likely be FromSoftware’s most ambitious title yet. We’ve seen bits and pieces of Elden Ring more recently in the form of trailer leaks, but nothing can compare to crisp, fresh footage of a pre-planned showcase.Įlden Ring is set to advance the Dark Souls formula Miyazaki has since perfected over the course of his games.
Also another incredibly-anticipated release, this time in the hands of FromSoftware and game director Hidetaka Miyazaki of the Dark Souls series. Zelda fans were treated with more Breath of the Wild story in the 2020 release of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, but a bigger look at one of Nintendo’s most anticipated sequels is hopefully in the cards.
RACING MASTER E3 SERIES
I’m still not convinced we’ll get a 2021 release date for the Breath of the Wild sequel - 2022 seems more likely - but I am very much looking forward to seeing more of what this series has in store. With Nintendo set for a showcase of their own on Tuesday, June 15 focusing on Switch titles releasing mostly in 2021, fans are hoping for another glimpse at the highly-anticipated sequel. Nintendo blew everyone’s expectations away after announcing a sequel to the award winning The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at the end of their E3 presentation in 2019. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 I wouldn’t expect any major news from Bethesda on The Elder Scrolls VI, but I’d love to see another small preview of what the team has been up to in the years since the title was announced. We haven’t heard anything since the extremely short reveal trailer released during 2018’s E3, and with three years passed it feels like we’re due for another look at the next chapter of The Elder Scrolls saga. Now that Bethesda is officially under Microsoft’s wing, I’d like to think we’ll see more movement on what’s been happening with The Elder Scrolls VI. I expect Halo Infinite to get a lot of time during Microsoft’s E3 event for the Xbox on Sunday, June 13, with hopefully a release date for fans hungry for some news. Halo Infinite is the next chapter in Master Chief’s saga, one that was supposed to be a release title for the Xbox Series X but was delayed in late 2020 for more developmental time. The latest entry to Microsoft’s flagship Halo series will likely get a big showcase this E3, if developer 343 Industries’ late 2021 release window for this title is still on track. Sony may not be attending the event themselves, but some of their games could still show up at various shows at E3, and fans will still be treated to big presentations from Microsoft, Nintendo, Square Enix, Ubisoft, and more.Īs E3 week gets underway, here are the nine games we are excited to hopefully see during the presentations. With E3 just around the corner, it’s hard not to get excited about the potential reveals and updates we’re set to get from some of the biggest publishers in the business. Though E3 continues to shrink in size and scope - and will be all-online this year due to the pandemic - there is sure to be ample video game news, announcements, and updates throughout the event, which runs from June 12 to June 15. E3 season is upon us and with it brings video game news big and small.
